Why You Should Consider Us

If you have been charged with DUI the most important decision you have is who will represent you.  This is not as easy as one would think.  How would someone unfamiliar with the legal system know who is the best attorney to represent their interests in a court of law?  Do not be swayed by inexperienced attorneys who promise you results that are unrealistic.  Experience, knowledge, professionalism, and the law firm's staffing are critical to the success in each case and the experience for each client.

What We Offer:

1.  Focus:  We only practice DUI law.  Both the attorneys and all the office staff focus on one area and one area only, DUIs.  Therefore we review hundreds of different cases every year, are familiar with the legal issues pertaining to this legal area, deal with the courts and prosecutors daily, and are up to date with the new laws and cases.  Importantly, we do not accept more cases than we can adequately handle.  Every case receives the time and dedication it deserves.

2.  Experience:  Collectively, our staff has over 20 years of DUI practice.  Specifically, we have the following credentials:

  • Over 100 trials (the majority of which resulted in our client's favor);
  • Have collectively handled more than 10,000 cases;
  • Successfully negotiated to a reduced charge from DUI over 100 DUI cases annually;
  • Have won hundreds Department of Licensing hearings;
  • Have a "brief bank" containing hundreds of different legal motions for clients;
  • Are Certified to perform the Field Sobriety Tests (therefore we can outwit police officers);
  • David Jolly is a Certified Instructor in Standardize Field Sobriety Testing and therefore considered an "expert" in the court system, more importantly, he is better educated in SFSTs than the officers we face;
  • Member of the National College for DUI Defense;
  • We detail and catalogue every case we are retained on and can very quickly review how each DOL hearing officer rules on different issues, how Judges rule on different motions, and our experience with different Police Officers/State Troopers;
  • David Jolly has authored the following books:
    • DUI/DWI:  The History of Driving Under the Influence (2009) - This book details the history of driving under the influence - this is the only DUI book ever, that details the history of every component of DUI.  The book includes details of the first DUI arrest (George Smith in 1897), the progression of breath test machines, the history of alcohol and drugs, DUI law history, and the future of DUI law.  An essential guide for lawyers, judges, police departments, and any citizen interested in this field.  Easy and interesting to read.  The top selling DUI book in the United States in November, 2009.
    • The DUI Handbook for the Accused (2007) - This book details the DUI process in its entirety in an easy to follow format designed for the person accused of this crime - every client receives a complimentary copy;

3.  Knowledge:  David and Stephanie regularly practice in over 50 different courts.   We know who the prosecutors are and their general philosophies when it comes to DUI law.  We also have been exposed to over 100 different Judges and are well prepared to deal with the Judge's that we are in front of.  While it is true that some Judges are better than others it is equally true that knowing how a Judge reacts to DUI defendants or rules on certains issues before entering his or her court is one of the keys to a successful DUI defense.  We know how each Judge rules on these issues in every court we practice.

4.  Service:  Besides the experience and training the attorneys have received, the office staff are well trained and experienced with this area of law.  Our office manager Janean, has a Master's Degree and is Certified in the Field Sobriety Testing procedures.  Our Firm practices as a team and as such we are all here to help our clients.  Further, in addition to representing clients in the Criminal Court and DOL hearing process, our staff help clients get alcohol evaluations, attend the DUI Victim’s Panel, apply for the Ignition Interlock License (if necessary), recommend where to get the Ignition Interlock Device (if necessary) and SR 22 Insurance (if necessary).  We also give a complimentary copy of "The DUI Handbook for the Accused" to every client.  It is our goal to provide better service to our clients than any other DUI firm in the State.
